Calling Out!

I had the pleasure of doing this flier for friends and this hugely worth while cause!

Read below and come along!!!!

With the climate changing and the seas rising Australia’s island neighbours
in the Pacific and Torres Strait are in great danger. In some of these
low-lying islands unseasonal rains and sea storms put entire villages at
risk of drowning and cause great damage to infrastructure. Our neighbours
are crying out for help!

‘Calling Out’ is a response to this cry, promoting solidarity with our
neighbours. Organised by the *Pacific Calling Partnership* as part of this
year’s Marrickville Cultural Festival, this huge FREE event will feature
amazing music and dance performances from local and international artists
with backgrounds from the Pacific Islands and elsewhere.

Headlining this event will be the world-renowned NZ-based Pacific phenomenon
*TE VAKA! *Come and enjoy their *first ever performance in **Sydney* before
they tour overseas. Be delighted by the sweet sounds of Indigenous vocal
group *FRESH WATER*. Be stirred and uplifted by local singer/songwriters
from the Pacific Calling Partnership in response to this crisis and a
dazzling performance from the *Marrickville** **High** ** School* Pacific
Island cultural group. ‘Calling Out’ will also feature inspiring speakers
sharing the heartfelt messages from our island neighbours and a preview of a
DVD titled *Kiribati and Global Warming*. Come and join the celebration and
be part of the solution!
